About the company
UCS Baltic, which has been operating in Lithuania since 1999, is best known as a provider of IT solutions for companies in the catering, accommodation, wellness and entertainment sectors, ensuring the installation and maintenance of specialised computer accounting and management systems required for their operations.
UCS Baltic currently has a very extensive service network in Lithuania and a 24/7 service line. Among the systems represented by the company are such well-known names as “R-Keeper”, “ericsoft“, “GymGest“, “unTill” and others. The solutions offered are not only applicable to the hospitality sector, but also to the public sector, such as municipalities and school canteens.
Challenge
The COVID-19 pandemic has prompted many businesses to accelerate their digitalisation – not only have organisations been adapting to the changed reality of office-based working being replaced by remote working, but they have also been looking for IT solutions to make their day-to-day operations easier.
“To save time and reduce printing costs, we have increasingly started signing various documents and contracts remotely after the pandemic. This change was also driven by a change in reality – printing and signing documents by hand no longer seemed attractive when more and more partners and clients were operating remotely,” says Juozas Paliulis, CEO of UCS Baltic.
He says that since signing documents is an almost daily business need, the company needed a reliable and convenient solution that would be easy and safe to use.
Solution
UCS Baltic evaluated all the tools currently available on the market in order to find a document signing solution that would meet the needs of the company. The eSignature services developed by Mark Sign proved to be the most suitable option.
Result
Signing contracts electronically not only reduced the cost of printing and sending them by registered mail, but also helped save time and travel costs, which were also needed to attend meetings just to sign contracts.
“We are pleased that our customers are also going digital and using Smart-ID, which is fully sufficient for signing contracts using the Mark Sign service platform. In addition, we are often involved in public procurement, where most of the documents are signed in ADoc format, which is also supported by this eSignature platform,” shares J. Paliulis.
The Mark Sign platform also serves UCS Baltic’s internal needs, such as the remote approval of employees’ leave requests. This is especially relevant for HR professionals, as the company has several offices in different cities across the country, so employees no longer need to send signed requests by registered mail to the Vilnius-based administration.
